spacing value input

Hello,
I just tried to assign the left/right margin of glyph_2 to glyph_1 in a space center window by typing “=glyph_2” in the metrics of glyph_1. This does not work if the value (of glyph_1) is zero. It just displays “=glyph_2” but does not take the new value.
Not something I usually need but …
