    I was wondering if I could change the order of the tools in the toolbar. More specifically, the default (shortcut key #1) is the Edit tool, but I would like to have the Scaling Edit tool (an extension) as the default / shortcut key #1

    you can order the tools in a glyph window

    FYI: this example script moved to the preferences window in the upcoming 1.7 release
